Craig Poms, Brandi Haymore, and Maria Abbe headed down to the 127th annual Florida Bankers Association Conference in Boca Raton, FL where the weather was a consistent sunny and 85 degrees.
On Monday, our team spent the afternoon setting up the booth and awaiting the bankers’ arrival. Once 5 PM hit, the bankers began to file into the exhibit hall where they proceeded to catch up with one another and walk around to the different vendors.
“I was able to meet some of our prospective clients and feel the energy from those who were interested in learning more about PrecisionLender,” said Maria about her first event.
Merril Hoge, former NFL star, ESPN Analyst, and cancer survivor, was the keynote speaker on Tuesday, and boy did he “wow” his audience. Hoge shared his trials and tribulations, the accomplishments he’s made in his life, and how his life is directed by the mantra, “Find A Way.” It was hard not to leave his talk utterly inspired and with a renewed perspective on what it means to push towards one’s goals.
Before heading back to North Carolina on Wednesday morning, Brandi and Maria ran a 5k. The walk/run was held by the FBA, and about 50-some people showed up for a humid and sticky 3.1 mile run or 2 mile walk around the beautiful Boca Raton Resort. All of the proceeds went to benefit the Florida Bankers Educational Foundation, which provides financial aid to college students who plan on entering the banking industry in Florida.
Overall, the event was a success, and we can’t wait to head back to FL soon.
